Hinton St George

is a traditional South Somerset village perched on a hill overlooking the Fosse Way.  The Festival is a key part of our vibrant cultural scene and is held biennially in the summer.  Between festivals, other concerts are held in various venues in the village.

Our aim is simple and straightforward – to bring a diverse range of high quality, live musical performances to the village and to provide encouragement and opportunity to young musicians from Hinton and the surrounding area.

After a very successful Festival week in June 2016 we were pleased to be able to help sponsor a singing teacher for Hinton St George First School.

Superb String Quartet in May 2017.  Prior to competing in Osaka Japan the Maxwell String Quartet delighted us with Bartok, Ravel and Britten.

A riveting performance in a rather chilly church with Concerts in the West

Mike Denham entertained us once more on the keyboard.  Swing, boogie woogie and stories accompanied by Andy Dickens with his "6 feet of silent tube" as he described it  - trumpet, cornet and flugel horn - on Friday 21st April

On Saturday 25th February 2017 we had an excellent evening in the church with Somerset singer-songwriter Reg Meuross

In October 2017 the Festival supported a concert by the Brue Boys  in aid of St. George's Restoration Fund. April 2018 saw the welcome  return after 5 years of the Cowbridge Male Voice Choir. The 45 strong choir entertained a delighted audience to a stirring mix of songs  in English and Welsh.
